After reading Beryl Prescott's experiences,it sadden's me to see that we are all treated in this manner,as a Diabetic I also had a below knee amputation in May this year, but for me it was a Double Wanny as I also lost my wife due to cancer three days after lossing my leg, but still treated the same as Beryl. I came out of Hospital to an empty house, No after care was offered, I have no family where I live,no shoulder to lean on and feel very alone, just wish I could talk to people in the same position as I'm in, IT'S 1.30 IN THE MORNING (I get very little sleep) Beryl, your not alone,KEN

Hello Philip,
I was saddened to read you comment and would love to help in whatever way I can.
I wonder if you could contact me again: wendymccleave@googlemail.com (the LLIC address isn't working properly for some reason) with some more information? You could also try contacting our Limb-Line - contact details on the Home Page of the Limb Loss Information Centre Website: www.limblossinformationcentre.com. Leggz, who mans it, an amputee herself, is not just a sympathetic ear but a fount of information. Also worth logging on to the Discussion Forum where you will get not just a few sympathetic ears but also a wealth of information, support and advice: http://old.limblossinformationcentre.com/forum/ The logging on system can be a bit temperamental sometimes and it's worth persevering but let me know if you have any problems. Anyway, I'm sure we should be able to help and reassure you through one of these channels and look forward to hearing from you again.
Best wishes for now,
Wendy
