We have received a message from David Kitchenham drawing our attention to Mirror Box Therapy as a treatment for phantom pain. We’d be interested to hear any feedback from people who have tried it.

Good message by David. However, for mirror therapy to be most successful the previous 2 stages of graded motor imagery must have been undertaken. That is, laterality reconstruction and motor imagery. They’ve written all about it at http://www.gradedmotorimagery.com.
I know of a number of people who have been on the graded motor imagery programme with incredible success. I think it requires quite a bit of ‘brain training’ work which takes time but I know it is risk free and quite cheap.
